Carefil Oral Strips 20 mg (tadalafil) are used to treat erectile dysfunction and an enlarged prostate, a common condition as men age. Sexual stimulation is required for Carefil to work effectively.
The main active ingredient in Carefil is Tadalafil. It relaxes the smooth muscle in the walls of blood vessels, helping to increase blood flow to specific areas of the body. Tadalafil is widely used because it is considered safer than some alternatives, offers long-lasting effects of up to 36 hours, is not habit-forming, is reasonably priced and is not affected by high-fat food.
HOW TO USE
Take Carefil Oral Strips as prescribed by your doctor. The recommended dose is one strip, taken as needed approximately 45-60 minutes before sexual activity.
Depending on effectiveness and tolerability, the dose of Carefil Oral Strips may be increased to 40 mg or reduced to 10 mg when used as needed. If you take Carefil every day, the usual dose is 2.5 mg or 5 mg. The dose recommended by your doctor will depend largely on whether you have used it before and, if so, how you responded to the previous dose. Carefil 20 mg must not be used by anyone under 18.
alfaMedic tip: You may improve the effectiveness of Carefil by stopping smoking, reducing your alcohol intake and following a suitable diet or exercise plan. You should also avoid grapefruit products.
WARNINGS & CONTRAINDICATIONS
Before taking Carefil (Tadalafil), speak to your doctor if you are allergic to it or have any other allergies. Older people may be more sensitive to the side effects of this medicine.
Carefil is contraindicated in patients taking another medicine for erectile dysfunction or for certain other health problems. This medicine must not be taken by women or children, or by anyone who is hypersensitive to any ingredient in the strip.
MISSED DOSE & OVERDOSE
Carefil is usually taken as needed, so you are unlikely to be following a regular dosing schedule. If you take it every day, take a missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is nearly time for your next scheduled dose. This applies to conditions such as pulmonary hypertension, where a fixed dosing schedule may be prescribed.
An overdose may occur if you take more than 500 mg in one day. The symptoms are generally the same side effects but may be more severe. If you take too much, stop taking the medicine and contact an emergency medical service immediately.
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
The most common side effects of Carefil Oral Strips include headache, indigestion, back pain, muscle pain, a blocked nose, flushing and dizziness. To reduce the risk of dizziness or light-headedness, get up slowly from a sitting or lying position. Many people who take Carefil do not experience serious side effects. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any side effect not listed above.
